Morning: High Dam, Philae Temple of Isis (relocated island by island from the flooded original), unfinished obelisk in the granite quarries. Afternoon: board your Nile cruiser. Felucca sailboat ride at sunset past Kitchener's Island and the Nubian villages on the west bank.
Morning sailing. Visit Kom Ombo โ the double temple shared between crocodile-god Sobek and falcon-god Horus. Crocodile Museum with mummified crocs. Lunch as the boat sails. Afternoon: Edfu's Temple of Horus, best-preserved temple in Egypt. Evening: captain's dinner and a galabeya (traditional dress) party.
Dock at Luxor. West Bank morning: Valley of the Kings โ three royal tombs included, with Tutankhamun's extra. Hatshepsut's terraced temple at Deir el-Bahari, Colossi of Memnon. Afternoon East Bank: Karnak Temple (largest religious structure ever built), Luxor Temple. Sound-and-light at Karnak in the evening.
Optional pre-dawn 3-hour flight or drive to Abu Simbel โ Ramses II's two colossal rock-cut temples (moved block by block when Lake Nasser rose). Return to Luxor. Fly Luxor-Cairo-home, or extend with Red Sea beach days at Hurghada or Sharm el-Sheikh.
